The Cast of

A Girl Smiles In The Arctic

Written by Cambria Denim
Directed by Reed Flores

Amy Rebecca King
(Nirliq)

Amy Rebecca King was born and raised in Culver City, California. A lover of the arts and education, she spends her days teaching children musical theatre, and nights working on dance technique. She received her BFA with Honors in Drama from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where she also wrote her Honors Thesis: Must the Fat Lady Sing? The Misrepresenation of Women of Size on the American Stage. While in New York, she had the opportunity to work with some fantastic artists, including Dave Malloy, Sam Pinkleton, The Civilians, and The Dance Cartel. Recently, she appeared as King Eggplant in Claudio Quest at the Chance Theater in Anaheim. Thanks to the cast and crew of this wonderful project, and to her friends and family. This one’s for Ruby.

Charlie Battaglia
(Justin Bieber)

Charlie is so "stoked" to be apart of this season's OC-Centric New Play Festival in the beautiful and original play, A Girl Smiles in the Arctic. Some of his previous credits include Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar, Dennis in This Is Our Youth, Gaston in Beauty & the Beast, and Prince Charming in the original musical parody It’s Not Ogre Yet. Charlie would like to thank his parents, his grandfather, his family, Chelsey Everhart, and Jill Goodsell for all of their love, support, and training. Most of all he would like to give all the glory to God, because without Him, he wouldn’t be here. "Enjoy the show, and keep livin’!"

Michael Kaye
(Alan)

Michael would like to first thank Reed Flores and OC-Centric for this opportunity to perform. He has performed as a stand-up comedian for seven years and in the theatre for the last three. He recently just finished a run of My Fair Lady at the Long Beach Playhouse, where he played Colonel Pickering. Some his past favorite roles include: Sterling in Mauritius, Beatty in Fahrenheit 451, Austin in True West, The Writer in The Lady of Larkspur Lotion, and The Ghost of Christmas Present in A Christmas Carol. He would also like to thank his supportive friends and family. "He also has to admit that he wrote this bio himself."
